An Alpharetta mother wanted on rape and molestation charges turned herself in to the Forsyth County Jail on Thursday, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Kathy Tompa, 48, is charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes, aggravated child molestation and statutory rape, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

“My client has a family and they are devastated by these allegations and plan to pursue this in court,” A.J. Richman, Tompa’s lawyer, told Channel 2.

Richman said Tompa doesn’t have a criminal record.

“She’s disappointed,” Richman told the television station. “But she’s keeping her head and she knows that justice will prevail.”

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office doesn’t comment on cases involving sex crimes or juveniles, Epifanio Rodriguez said. No other details were released..

Tompa is scheduled to have her first court appearance Friday, Channel 2 reported.
