An Alpharetta mother will sit in jail for the next month after a judge denied her bond, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Kathy Tompa, 48, is charged with child molestation, statutory rape and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

“My client has a family and they are devastated by these allegations and plan to pursue this in court,” A.J. Richman, Tompa’s lawyer,” told Channel 2 Action News on Thursday.

Tompa turned herself into the Forsyth County Jail on Thursday with her lawyer, father and husband by her side. Tompa has no criminal record.

“She’s disappointed,” Richman told the television station. “But she’s keeping her head and she knows that justice will prevail.”

No details on Tompa’s case were given by Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office as they don’t comment on sex offences and case involving juveniles.
