Kisha Holmes, the ex-Marine who was found dead in January in a south Cobb County apartment along with her three children, hanged herself, the Cobb Medical Examiner's office said Tuesday.

According to a Cobb Medical Examiner’s report, Holmes was found in the apartment seated in a chair with a brown belt around her neck. One end of the belt was attached to a door.

Holmes, who was pregnant with her fourth child, had a history of mental problems, according to the report.

“A journal written by her was found at the scene and it included among other things, her plans to finish her life,” officials wrote in the report.

The Cobb Medical Examiner’s office listed the official cause of death as “hanging” and the manner of death as “suicide.”
