A Gainesville man was arrested Wednesday after he fractured his 4-year-old stepson’s leg, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said.

Bobby Franklin Lomax, 28, was taken into custody without incident and charged with first-degree cruelty to children, sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Scott Ware said.

Investigators believe the abuse happened in the 5100 block of Hightower Road. Lomax’s stepson had several abrasions and bruises on his face, Ware said. He has been treated and released from a local hospital.

Lomax is now in the Hall County Jail. Bond has not been set.

The case remains under investigation.
