The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a Gainesville man in connection with a shooting Saturday.

Jeffery Scott Moss, 27, was last seen fleeing a gray Nissan sedan with tinted windows near the 34 block of Dean Street, according to a sheriff’s office statement. Officials said they recovered a handgun from the car Moss left behind.

Sheriff’s deputies and officers with the Gainesville Police Department responded to reports of a shooting regarding a home that had been struck by gunfire in the 40 block of Stallworth Street around 11:20 a.m. Saturday. No one was injured, according to the statement.

Investigators identified Moss as the prime suspect from witness accounts of the vehicle allegedly driven by the shooter, the statement read.

Warrants are out for Moss’ arrest on charges of criminal attempt of aggravated assault and criminal damage to property.

He served time for possession of illegal drugs but was released in June 2016.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the case or Moss’ whereabouts is asked to contact Hall County Central Communications at 770-531-6758.
