The Georgia Department of Corrections is looking for an inmate they say escaped from a work detail in Albany.

Dorcell Wilson was in the Albany Transitional Center on burglary charges when he escaped. He is serving a 10-year sentence.

Wilson is described as 6-foot-2, weighing 203 pounds with black hair. The GDOC said he could be wearing “civilian clothing.”

Anyone who sees Wilson is asked to call 911.

Transitional centers house selected offenders who are slowly reintegrated into society after spending time in state prisons, according to the GDOC website. There are 13 in operation statewide.

One of the main functions is to provide work releases, which allow the inmates to obtain a paying job in the community.
