A mechanical error caused a DeKalb County school bus carrying students to crash Tuesday, officials said.

The Woodridge Elementary School bus was carrying nine students at the time, according to a DeKalb school district spokeswoman. One student was reported to have a minor injury, according to the district.

The wreck happened near South Hidden Hills Parkway, according to DeKalb police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer. An incident report said the bus’ brakes failed and caused it to hit a tree.
