Braves 400 Fan Club honors Tom Glavine and John Smoltz

The Braves 400 Fan Club will host its annual winter banquet and fundraiser on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at the Atlanta Marriott Perimeter Century Hotel.

The theme is “Young Guns to Hall of Fame – Tom Glavine and John Smoltz.”

A gala reception, silent auction and raffle of Braves memorabilia begins at 5 p.m. with the awards dinner and program following at 6:30 p.m. Hall of Famer Phil Niekro and Leo Mazzone are among the early RSVPs.

Braves broadcaster Jim Powell will emcee the program.

Awards for outstanding performances by Braves minor leaguers in 2015 will be announced at the banquet. Former Braves pitching coach Leo Mazzone will receive the Luke Appling Nostalgia Award. The Ivan Allen, Jr. “Mr. Baseball” Award recipient will be announced at the banquet. Phil Niekro College Scholarships will be awarded to Oglethorpe University and Young Harris College.

The 2015 Metro-Atlanta High School Player of the Year will be presented to Tyler Stephenson from Kennesaw Mountain High School. Stephen Wrenn from the University of Georgia will receive the Jason Varitek Most Outstanding Scholar Athlete in Georgia Award.

The Braves 400 Fan Club is a non-profit organization that supports baseball at all levels in the community.
