A 36-year-old Americus man was killed in a two-car crash in Mableton early this morning, according to Cobb County police.

John H. Clemons died at the scene of the crash, which happened around 5 a.m. on Veterans Memorial Highway at Oakdale Road, police said.

Clemons was driving a red 2005 Ford Taurus west on Veterans Memorial Highway approaching Oakdale Road, according to police. Michael S. Stephenson, 44, who was driving a black 2016 Dodge Ram east on Veterans Highway, turned left in front of the Ford Taurus, police said. Stephenson, of White, was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries, police said. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to call 770-499-3987.
