An Easter video of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church’s new senior pastor preaching and doing a praise dance has gone viral.

Bishop Stephen A. Davis, who assumed the leadership role of the Lithonia megachurch after the death of longtime pastor,  Bishop Eddie L. Long, was dressed in a flowing red outer robe . On “Resurrection Sunday” Davis was shown preaching before what a prop that was similar to entrance to a tomb.

New Birth is known for its elaborate Easter services. Several years ago it was held at the Georgia Dome.

He said his father once invited him over to a leadership meeting. It’s unclear who is referring to but it was likely a reference to Long, who was known as a spiritual father to other pastors and church members.

Does New Birth have a future without Bishop Long?

His father, put a video clip on of him and his wife "praising the Lord in the dance.” When Davis asked the him why he showed that clip, his “father” just smiled .

“Well, I’m going to make him smile again today,” Davis said, before breaking out in praise.

“Hallelujah, somebody give God the pr...” he shouts between praise breaks. “Somebody praise your God!”

The video has more than 16 thousand views on New Birth’s Facebook page.

A another video of that same service that shows Davis emerging from the entrance of the tomb has more than 15 thousand views. He said he wanted about 1,000 people to shout that like they had just walked out of the tomb.

Heavenly Home Henry apparently liked what she saw. She posted “ Through the storms & rain...We Are Back!!! Awesome Service Bishop Davis & The Word ! Bishop Long would have been so happy to see that balcony fill'd once again! All Praise be to God!”

Carla Tucker apparently agreed, posting on Facebook, “YessssssssSAH, we had a GLORIOUS TIME and if you wasn't there, you missed it. BISHOP DAVIS (was off da chain!) God sent the divine word and the messenger delivered it. NEW BIRTH, WE ARE BACK.”
