A Christmas Carol, Alliance Theatre at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center

There are several options to see this classic tale including Alliance Theatre's 29th annual production which opens on Dec. 12 and runs through Dec. 24. Journey through time with the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge as his late business partner Jacob Marley and the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future help Scrooge learn how to make better life choices. This Broadway-scale production of the Dickens classic is two and a half hours (with one 15-minute intermission) and features live music and an all-star cast. $31.50 - $80. 7:30 p.m. Dec. 12. Modern Luxury Jingle Jog 2018, 5K Race

Jump start your fitness goals before the New Year by participating in the Modern Luxury a Jingle Jog, a 5k Race through Piedmont Park. The event includes festive stops along the route. Take a picture with Santa and wrap up the race with cocktails at Park Tavern. Holiday inspired attire is welcome.
