The weekend is almost here, but it’s a little soggy outside. Maybe you’d like to stay out of the rain.

‘BARBECUE NATION’
Atlanta History Center is celebrating the art of barbecue with this new food-centric exhibition, focusing on the idea that this is a truly American food and examining the political and social aspects of barbecue. In addition, Southern Foodways Alliance is hosting a screening of a short film about Valentina's Tex Mex BBQ located in Austin, Texas, and a panel on barbecue with Bryan Furman of B's Cracklin BBQ and Jiyeon Lee of Heirloom Market BBQ at 7 p.m. May 23. Tickets for that event are $20. The exhibition continues through June 16, 2019, and museum admission is $21.50; senior citizens and students age 13 and older, $18; children ages 4-12, $9; free for children under 4. MARGO PRICE
Old-school country is alive and well in the music of Margo Price. The Illinois native's first two albums, "Midwest Farmer's Daughter" and "All American Made," have brought her nearly universal critical acclaim. ‘DR. SEUSS’S CAT IN THE HAT’
The beloved children's classic comes to life on stage at the Center for Puppetry Arts. The show is in its final week, continuing through Sunday, so catch it before it's gone. Tickets for the show are $25 and include the live performance, a Create-A-Puppet Workshop™ or to-go kit and admission to the Worlds of Puppetry Museum. Tickets and times are at puppet.org.
