Where can I find it?

Q: Years ago everyone used a brown soap called Fels-Naptha. I don’t think they still make it, they do make a yellow stain remover. I would like to find a bar to prove to my friends it was used for everything. Thanks. Ken Laskey, email

A: Ken, you're in luck. Fels-Naptha is still in production, and available locally. Considered a laundry bar and stain remover, Fels-Naptha made its debut in the late 1880s. Naphtha, a solvent derived from petroleum, is used as a cleaner as well as a fuel, and is an ingredient found in kerosene and gasoline. However, it's no longer used in Fels-Naptha laundry soap. The soap is currently in stock at Ace Hardware of Toco Hills, 2983 N. Druid Hills Road, Atlanta, 404-325-8000. A 5.5-ounce bar of Purex Fels-Naptha costs $1.79.

Q: I am looking for Kraft Light Three Cheese Ranch salad dressing. I used to be able to get it at Kroger or Publix, but now I can’t locate it anywhere. If you could track it down for me, my husband would be really grateful; it is his favorite. Thanks, Susan Snell, Peachtree City

A: Ingles Market, 1735 Zebulon Road, Griffin, 770-228-0607, stocks 16-ounce plastic bottles of Kraft Light Three Cheese Ranch reduced fat salad dressing for $3.28.

Q: Can you please tell me where to find Pappy’s sassafras jelly? I can’t even find it online, and I would be willing to buy it there if that was my only choice. I can easily find Pappy’s tea concentrate, but not this jelly. Please help if you can. Thank you. Jim Smith, email

A: Pappy's homemade sassafras jelly is an offshoot of Pappy's Sassafras Tea company started by Hermie Kerner in 1962. The Ohio business is still family owned. Sassafras give the tea and jelly a flavor similar to root beer. You can find 8-ounce jars of Pappy's homemade sassafras jelly for $4.89 at DeKalb Farmers Market, 3000 E. Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur, 404-377-6400.
