Book club: The Cathedral Book Store, located at the Cathedral of St. Philip, invites everyone to participate in Hart Readers, a community reading group. The next book reading and discussion will cover "Between Heaven and Mirth" by James Martin, which explores how a healthy spirituality and a healthy sense of humor go hand-in-hand with God's plan for humankind. Anniversary celebration: Emmaus House will celebrate 50 years in Peoplestown with a weekend of events. A cocktail reception will take place 6-8 p.m. Sept. 15. Tickets are $20. Tea party: The women of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church will present their 12th annual tea party, which will feature guest speakers, a fashion show, hat parade, music and more. Of note: During this year's culture fest, visitors will be able to attend a screening and Q&A session of "Maynard," which tells the story of Atlanta's first black mayor, Maynard Holbrook Jackson II; music and dance performances; walking tours; face painting for children; and cooking demonstrations.
