Spanish-language news agencies in Honduras are reporting the first suspected case of Ebola in Honduras, where an American (norteamericano) patient has reportedly been isolated in a hospital in Comayagua.

"A foreign patient is isolated in a private clinic in Comayagua, after showing symptoms similar (to Ebola)," according to El Heraldo. (Translation)

The Honduran Minister of Health, Yolany Batres, confirmed Friday night that the protocol for treatment of suspected Ebola cases was being followed. Health officials stressed that it was not a confirmed case.

Hondured, a Honduras TV station, reports that the patient is an American resident of Comayagua who recently traveled to Africa.
