A highly anticipated food festival in Candler Park left many attendees with a bad taste in their mouths.

The first Atlanta Taco Festival was advertised to ticket-buyers as "the largest taco competition and taco celebration on the East Coast," but many say the food festival on Sunday didn't live up to the hype.

Aside from intermittent rain, complaints on social media addressed issues such as oversold tickets, limited vendors, long lines, disorganization and technological malfunctions.

A representative from the PR agency for the Atlanta Taco Festival, Phase 3 Marketing, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the organization is working on a refund policy for customers affected by the technological issues.

The cashless event was supposed to be facilitated by an RFID wristband system, which allowed attendees to pre-load "points" to purchase food and beverages on site. However, some say their wristbands malfunctioned at the entrance or showed a zero balance before purchasing food or drinks.

Attendees also took to the festival's Facebook page to say there were not enough vendors for all the attendees and hour-long lines discouraged hungry customers.

Tickets for the one-day festival started at $27 plus additional fees.

However, some say they had a great time, despite the rain.
