While the land of Westeros is fictional, several of the filming locations from the popular "Game of Thrones" HBO series are completely real and worth the visit.

According to Business Insider, Northern Ireland is home to some of the big hot spots such as Magheramorne Quarry, which is used for Castle Black and The Wall.

Lake Myvatn, which is just south of the Arctic Circle, is known as what lies “Beyond the Wall” in the series.

The walled city on the Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik, is the site of the infamous King’s Landing.
