Other events include Santa coming to town on Thursday, Dec. 3 (Local school choruses perform at 5 p.m.; Santa arrives at 5:20 p.m. and will stay at the square until 8 p.m. the lighting of the Christmas tree)
Sponsored by the Marietta Square (a non-profit sponsored by businesses on the Marietta Square) the holiday events will also include toy workshops sponsored by Home Depot, and New Year’s Eve celebrations which include a Children’s Ball Drop at 7 p.m. Dec. 31.
“We are working hard to create a magical Holiday experience, to provide the setting that will build cherished
memories that will last a lifetime. It’s an honor to be a part of it all.”, says Jenny King, a local artist, owner of Red
Door Art Gallery & Studio and a member of the group of businesses hosting these events. King adds, “The Square often resembles a Hallmark movie on a regular day…to see it transform into a winter wonderland and to be able to share that feeling
with everyone is truly amazing.”
