Donald Trump Jr., following his father’s playbook, took to the Twittersphere to razz a group of Pittsburgh students who were opposed to having a Chick-fil-A restaurant at their college.
According to an article in the Duquesne Duke, a student newspaper, a representative at the Duquesne University student government was opposed to a recent decision by the university to allow a Chick-fil-A Express to open at the school.
Chick-fil-A “has a questionable history on civil rights and human rights,” said Niko Martini, the student representative, who unsuccessfully sought a resolution from the student government asking the university to reconsider its decision opposing the restaurant.
But Trump Jr. mocked the request.
Trump Jr. sent out a tweet Thursday that linked to the student newspaper article on the issue, adding, "Luckily these students wont likely have to tackle issues more stressful than a yummy chicken sandwich in their lives… Oh Wait #triggered."
Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy has publicly spoken about his opposition to gay marriage. The metro Atlanta-based company said in a statement Thursday: “Everyone is welcome in our restaurants.”
