2. Alston & Bird

Alston & Bird, an Atlanta-based law firm with 739 area employees, is in the top five for the seventh consecutive year. Benefits include financial support for employees looking to start a family through adoption, surrogacy and fertility treatments, onsite massages, wellness programs, onsite childcare, and medical plans that cover counseling, ADD/ADHD, chiropractic care, gender reassignment and acupuncture. Employees of Alston & Bird, which was founded in 1893, also are encouraged to volunteer through programs that assist children, such as Everybody Wins!, the Truancy Intervention Project and working with Dunbar Elementary School. The firm also participates in blood drives and charitable run/walks, volunteers at the Atlanta Community Food Bank and performs pro bono work.

3. Resurgens Orthopaedics

Resurgens Orthopaedics, which was founded in 1999, has 952 employees at 21 locations throughout the metro area. This is the seventh consecutive year on the list for the Atlanta-based company, which jumped from ninth in 2016. Resurgens Orthopaedics offers tuition reimbursement, a benefits package that includes medical, vision and life insurance, as well as disability insurance, 401(k) matching, profit sharing plans and at least 21 days of paid time off each year. The Resurgens Charitable Foundation has contributed more than $1 million to fund various fitness programs for children and build playgrounds across metro Atlanta. Employees can participate in activities to raise funds for the foundation.

4. SAP America

SAP America, which has 1,192 employees at its three Atlanta area locations, makes its fourth appearance on the list. The software company moved into a modern space in Buckhead in 2016. In addition to vacation time and insurance, SAP employees have access to Fitbit wellness, diabetes management and childhood obesity programs. Employees (male and female) who have worked for SAP for at least one year can have seven weeks off after child birth and mothers have the option to work fewer hours at full pay for four more weeks. 5. InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG)

InterContinental Hotels Group, which has 1,897 employees in the metro area, responded to workforce needs and employee feedback with planned renovations of its United States headquarters in Atlanta. Planned amenities include flexible collaboration spaces and mother’s rooms. IHG’s benefits include insurance, an onsite fitness center, employee assistance program, adoption assistance program, health and wellness programs, onsite mammography exams, tuition assistance for employees and scholarships for their children.
