Atlanta-based Streamline Health Solutions Inc., a provider of software that helps hospitals and other health care services analyze big data from disparate systems, said it is acquiring St. Louis-based Unibased Systems Architecture Inc.
Streamline said Unibased Systems is being acquired for about $6.5 million and the deal is expected to close next month.
Unibased Systems is a provider of software that helps health care organizations manage their resources, including patient scheduling and surgery management.
“Their scheduling software bridges clinical and financial data earlier in the patient experience, providing a head start on coding and health information management processes and even pre-service collection efforts,” Streamline President and Chief Executive Officer Robert Watson said in announcing the deal.
Streamline Health continues to grow through acquisitions and licensing agreements.
In November, Streamline announced it had signed letters of intent to purchase two companies to augment its software solutions. Unibased Systems is one of those companies, company spokesman Randy Salisbury confirmed Friday.
Streamline also said it would pay about $13.75 million in a combination of cash and common stock for the second company. “The second acquisition is still in negotiation, and therefore the name of the company has not been disclosed,” Salisbury told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We have no further news to report on that one at this time.”
The company also announced it was issuing common stock to pay for the acquisitions and fund other company efforts.
The company acquired Interpoint Partners LLC in 2011 for $5 million, which included a combination of cash and a convertible subordinated note. The acquisition will allow Streamline to expand product offerings into business intelligence and revenue cycle performance management.
In 2012, the company acquired Meta Health Technology Inc., a provider of health information management software, for about $14.8 million. Last October, Streamline signed a 15-year exclusive software license agreement with Montefiore Medical Center for its clinical analytics and population management products. The initial royalty payment was $3 million, the company said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
