Delta Air Line flight attendants have worn various outfits through the years.

It has been 75 years since Delta Air Lines' first flight with a flight attendant. At a recent fashion show in the Delta museum hangar at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to celebrate the anniversary, flight attendants modeled uniforms they and their predecessors have worn through the decades. | Sign up for AJC's Atlanta Air Travel Newsletter

Collett Everman "C.E." Woolman, a principal founder of Delta, presents Mary Burns Thomas with an orchid, recognizing her as the 1,000th Delta flight attendant to graduate from initial training on July 30, 1956 in Atlanta. The orchid was probably from Woolman's personal greenhouse. Growing orchids was his hobby, and he was known to present them to female employees to commemorate special events.

An unidentified Delta flight attendant congratulates Betty Ector, whose child Suzanne Ector was the first baby born onboard a Delta aircraft in 1959. Ector gave birth at 9,000 feet while in flight over Malden, Missouri. Delta wings were used as diaper pins.

A fashion show was recently held in the Delta museum hangar in Atlanta to celebrate the flight attendants' 75th anniversary.
