These metro Atlanta companies are making big hires this October

If you're looking for a job, here's a snapshot of October positions: Certified Medical Assistants for Grady Memorial Hospital Seasonal workers for Toys R Us Seasonal workers for Target Managers, associates and groomers for Pet Supermarket

There are number of employers making big hires in the metro Atlanta this October, including Grady Hospital and Toys R Us.

In the case of retail jobs, some companies are already starting to hire for the holidays, and some of these seasonal employees may be retained for regular employment.

If you're looking for a job, here's a brief snapshot of what's available this October:

Grady Memorial Hospital

Grady is hiring Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) to work in its geriatric, neighborhood and primary care centers. You'll need to have your current BLS and medical assistant certification.

A hiring event for bilingual and Spanish-speaking candidates only will be held on Oct. 9 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Brookhaven Health Center, 2695 Buford Highway NE, Atlanta. Another hiring event for all candidates will be held on Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. to 5p.m. at Grady Human Resources, 50 Hurt Plaza, 13th Floor, Atlanta.

Toys R Us

Toys R Us is one of the many companies that ramps up hiring in advance of the holidays, and the company is already starting to fill positions in distribution centers (one is located in McDonough) as well as stores.

If you'd like to turn your seasonal job into a regular full- or part-time one, around 15 to 20 percent of holiday employees retain positions after Christmas, according to the company. Interviews are underway for both venues, and new hires for stores start working in October. Hiring will continue through December.

Target

Target plans to hire 100,000 holiday workers nationwide, and the openings come at a time when the company has announced that it's raising the minimum hourly wage for its employees to $11 starting in October.

All Target stores will participate in a hiring event from Oct. 13 to 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. You may be able to interview and receive a job offer during the event. To apply in advance, click here.

Pet Supermarket

Pet Supermarket is hiring for multiple metro Atlanta locations in October for positions such as managers, retail associates and groomers. The company is hosting open interviews on Oct. 3 and 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their Stone Mountain store at 6050 Memorial Drive.
