Summer movie season is in full swing — not just in your local theater, but all across metro Atlanta, where a host of films (big, small and blockbuster) are in production.
Here's a look at some of the films that are seeking extras.
"Felt" is the story of Mark Felt, known for years only as "Deep Throat" after he helped journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein uncover the Watergate scandal in 1974. The star-studded cast includes Liam Neeson, Diane Lane and Jason Bateman.
The movie is likely in its final days of production in Atlanta, but there are still some calls going out. Extras Casting Atlanta is handling the background work. If you have the ability to transform your appearance to someone living in 1974, ECA is interested in hearing from you. Go to their Facebook page to check the latest postings.
"Jacob's Ladder" is a reboot and will be a modern-day paranoid action thriller about two brothers. The cast includes Michael Ealy, Jesse Williams, Nicole Beharie and Dwayne Boyd. David Rosenthal has signed on as the director.
Casting TaylorMade is hiring background actors. Recent posts are for VA hospital visitors and MARTA passengers. If interested, email three photos, contact information, height, weight and clothing sizes to: extrascastingTM@gmail.com.
This latest installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe places Tom Holland front and center as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Marissa Tomei as Aunt May Parker. Robert Downey Jr. is also on board to appear as Tony Stark/Iron Man.
Tammy Smith Casting has been accepting submissions for weeks to fill background extra roles. So far, she's looking for high school students and law enforcement-types. Filming will run from June 20th to July 1st. If interested, follow Smith's posts on her website.
This indie feature film was formerly titled,"Ain't No Half Steppin." It centers around an ambitious African-American sorority girl, who, in order to get into the law school of her dreams, agrees to teach a white sorority how to step. The cast includes Megalyn Echikunwoke, Eden Sher, Lyndon Smith and Alessandra Torresani.
Catrett Casting and Associates have been looking for bartenders, musicians, frat guys and sorority girls. If interested, submit three photos, your contact information, height, weight and sizes to: Submissions@CatrettCasting.com.
"Thor: Ragnarok" may still shoot at Pinewood Studios in Fayetteville, like other Marvel films in recent years, but it's become clear the majority of filming will take place in Australia (home to the film's star, Chris Hemsworth).
While several cast members from previous Thor installments will be back on screen for "Ragnarok," there's been a tremendous amount of buzz over Cate Blanchett accepting the role of evil Hela – Marvel's equivalent of the Norse goddess of death. The film is scheduled to be released in the U.S. in November 2017.
