Another TV series is coming to metro Atlanta in early 2025: “The Good Daughter,” a drama based on the 2017 bestselling book written by Atlanta author Karin Slaughter.

The limited series on Peacock is scheduled to begin production March 18 and finish at the end of June. According to IATSE 479, the union representing most crew members, Rose Byrne is attached to the project. (No other actor names were listed.)

Earlier this year, Jessica Biel dropped out of the project.

Byrne has starred in a lengthy list of films and TV shows including “Damages,” “Bridesmaids,” “Neighbors” and “Physical.” She shot the “Neighbors” sequel “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising” in metro Atlanta in 2015.

The union only said “The Good Daughter” is being shot in Atlanta but did not identify which studio the production companies are leasing.

Two Peacock series this year have been shot at Doraville’s Assembly Studios: “Fight Night” and “Teacup.” Another recent Peacock series “Hysteria!” was based out of Three Ring Studios in Covington.

Slaughter’s book series “Will Trent” led to ABC’s popular “Will Trent” TV series starring Ramon Rodriguez and Erika Christensen. That crime drama is returning for its third season on Jan. 7. In 2022, a limited series “Pieces of Her” starring Toni Collette came out on Netflix based on Slaughter’s book of the same name.

“The Good Daughter” features two sisters, Charlotte and Samantha, still trying to reconcile their lives 28 years after their mother is killed at their home, according to a description provided by the production companies. When another attack happens in present day, Charlotte is the first witness. As a lawyer, she’s forced to confront her own demons as the new case twists through one shocking revelation after another.
