If Trump loses, he’ll say election was rigged

Former President Donald Trump and many of his allies are often asked if they will accept the results of the 2024 election. The standard answer is that they will if it is free and fair. But, the much more important follow-up question is never asked. Who determines if it is free and fair? Is it Trump and his allies, public opinion or the courts?

The courts overwhelmingly rejected Republican claims in the 2020 election. There are few guarantees in life, but here is one: If Trump wins, he and his allies will say the election was free and fair and the safest in history because of all the work the Republicans did to ensure a fraud-free election. If Trump loses, it will be because it was rigged and millions of noncitizens voted despite no evidence, as in 2020, that there was meaningful fraud.

Rally speakers intended to instill hate

Every American voter received a gift from the rally of former President Donald Trump at Madison Square Garden.

At that rally, speakers and Trump spewed a litany of lies intended to instill hatred of others and Vice President Kamala Harris.

The gift to us: Trump and his supporters provided the clearest demonstration possible that the essence of the Trump campaign is an effort to convince American voters to hate others who are in any way different from themselves.

This effort to divide us is exactly what the dictators who have declared undying hatred of America want, and why they are devoting a massive effort to fake news and hacking and giving cash to American collaborators.

Will American voters buy into this dangerous nonsense and fog of lies intended to persuade us to loathe one another?

Hate thy neighbor? Love they neighbor?

By our votes for president, we will decide what kind of America we wish to live in and the person who embodies that choice.
