Hunger has been called a silent crisis in America. Our community isn’t immune, especially during the summertime when school’s out. In our lead column, a fast-food executive challenges metro Atlanta to do better by our young people so they don’t skip meals simply because they aren’t in school. The second essay highlights efforts of Asian-American youth to raise awareness about alcohol abuse in their communities.
