Terrorists do not deserve our protection
I am a 70-year-old Atlantan with no relatives or friends in Manchester. I am so angry about the bombing. The Brits are an extension of us. I travel globally frequently, and I am stopped at security for hairspray and manicure scissors while known terrorists can come and go at will. Why can’t the free world be proactive instead of reactive? Even if your name is George Washington, if you traveled to the “hot spot” countries within the past year (Iran, Syria, Iraq, Libya), you should not be able to re-enter your free world country. This “watch” list is watching innocent people die because we’re to busy protecting terrorists’ rights. It would be so easy to either seize the terrorists’ passports, or let them visit their ISIS friends and not be allowed to come back into their free world countries. Enough already! I have watched New York, Boston, France, Germany and now Britain suffer because we “watched” and didn’t act until the dirty deed was done. Let’s protect our citizens and stop protecting the people who want to kill us.

Let’s bring back Fairness Doctrine
In 1987, President Ronald Reagan vetoed legislation to turn into law the 38-year-old “fairness doctrine,” reversing a rule that “insured a reasonable opportunity for the discussion of conflicting views on issues of public importance.” Before that, television and radio would allow time for opposing views to be aired. The penalty for not adhering to this rule was the loss of one broadcasting license. The equal time rule specifies that broadcast stations must provide an equivalent opportunity to any opposing political candidate who requests it.
The climate was created by Ronald Reagan to allow this environment of hatred and paranoia to fester and increase. From this, Fox News and Breitbart News were born. Let’s bring back the Fairness Doctrine and stop the hate.
