Haughty liberals will face eternal reckoning

It amazes me even today, at age 74, the attitude of liberal Democrats and the liberal media including the AJC. They seem to feel superior to conservatives in many ways. They support abortion as though it is a privilege, when actually it is murder out of sight. Liberal Democrats and the media support alternative lifestyles that have never been natural, and they think they are above it all floating on a cloud of invincibility. They seem to believe in a little god of personal pleasures and convenience for themselves and wrap a bow of compassion. They will someday face God and explain how and why they were so totally wrong about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, the liberal Democratic way.

Use of ‘America’ in headline was in error

As a Latino citizen, I find the title of your recent article, “Pushing America to face its racist past” (Living & Arts, Dec. 16), erroneous and insulting. We Latinos have always cringed at the use of the word “America” as referring to the United States , when in truth the word refers not to one country, but to a continent composed of 23 countries. It is a well-documented fact that racist conditions existed in this country, including slavery, separations, mutilations and hangings of blacks as well as for Native Americans, Jews, Chinese and Japanese and many non-whites. In my country of origin, and in most Latin American countries, no such racism existed nor exists today, whereas racism still lives in the U.S. You have an oath and responsibility to report the truth, and using the word “America” is not correct, nor is it the truth.
