Georgia is still grappling with the best way to evaluate teachers and determine which are excelling. It’s a more complicated calculation than just looking at student test scores, according to educators. I talk about the challenges in remaking teacher evaluations. Speaking of test scores, Georgia just released the results of the first Georgia Milestones exams, and they weren’t good. In a guest column, two policy leaders say those lower scores more accurately measure achievement in Georgia and will help the state and parents understand what needs to be done to better prepare students.
