Grab an ugly sweater and get ready for trap music at the Silent Trap N R&B Party ATL: Ugly Sweater/Christmas Edition.
Starting at 10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, partygoers will be able to listen to trap, ’90s or R&B tunes — all inside their own headphones at Atlanta’s Members Only Lounge.

Hosted by Urban Grace Presents, attendees are encouraged to sport their most festively hideous sweaters, grab headphones and tune in to one of the available stations. Three DJs will spin three sets of music, so each listener has their choice of what to groove to. Don’t like the blue trap station? Tune into the green ’90s one instead. For R&B lovers, there’s the red station. Each LED headphone color corresponds to the station to which your friends listen. So you’ll still be tuned in with them as you all have your own individual, yet joint, party.
Special RSVP tickets for the 21 and up event are sold out, but general admission tickets are still on sale for $15 via text or Eventbrite.
Silent parties may seem unusual, but they've popped up all over the city in recent years.
Yet such events are not a new phenomenon.

At the time, all guests would listen to the same music and wear headphones instead of the sounds blaring out of speakers. Present-day silent parties, however, entail three DJs each playing three kinds of music and competing for the crowd’s attention on each station.
