Last weekend, Jamie Aspinwall wore a mermaid-style sparkly dress to her junior prom.

On Sunday, the teenager slipped into the same dress and curled her hair for a second prom — this time for a dance at Noble Village, a senior living home in Suwanee.

“I thought it was a good idea to make people happy, and I think it will be fun for me to get my groove on,” said Jamie, a 17-year-old student at Peachtree Ridge High School.

The “Senior Prom” is the brain child of Analise Kucera, a 17-year-old junior who created an organization two years ago called, “BridgeworX,” which is aimed at encouraging teenagers to connect with seniors through fun activities. Analise orchestrated the dance Sunday, and got dozens of teenagers to pitch in with everything from bringing food to decorating the lobby to setting up a disco ball. The dance floor was packed with about an equal number of young people and seniors dancing.
