The theme of the 51st race is “Move Forward with Atlanta,” and runners and walkers will soon be able to move forward with joining the event in the coming days. Entrants will be randomly selected after the lottery closes March 31. All who entered can expect an email by April 3 saying whether or not they’ve been selected for the event.

Atlanta Track Club members are guaranteed entry into the world’s biggest 10K as long as their membership was active by Feb. 1.

Regarding present concerns over the spread of COVID-19, Atlanta Track Club announced the AJC Peachtree Road Race will currently continue as planned.

“We hope and expect to celebrate running and walking on Independence Day as Atlanta always does,” said Rich Kenah, Atlanta Track Club’s executive director and Race Director of the AJC Peachtree Road Race. “The Club has received no information from health officials indicating that the Peachtree is at risk of not happening on the 4th of July. But as Atlanta and the rest of the country deals with Covid-19, Atlanta Track Club understands the unprecedented situation facing public events.”

There is no refund policy in place, but the Track Club said it will not retain Peachtree entry fees without offering participants consideration and options if the race has to be scratched.

“Atlanta Track Club is and always has been an organization that focuses on health and wellness,” Kenah said. “As we plan for the 51st running of the Peachtree that focus will not change.”
