When Joelle and Mike DeRoche bought their home in 2018 the stairs in the home were rough-hewn and carpeted. When they started to refinish them they realized that since the stairs were unfinished, it would be just as easy to restructure the staircase. They demolished the original stairs and worked with Vision Stairways & Millwork to create a new set of stairs that land in the living room instead of by the front door. Text by Shannon Dominy.
