When Angel and Sarah Traverso bought their East Lake home in 2018, they loved the interior and the location, but the exterior of the home was far from their style. Working with the home’s builder, Lang Custom Homes, they settled on a plan to update the outside.

“We loved the neighborhood, and we loved the open floor plan and the layout of the house, but the curb appeal for us just wasn’t where we wanted it to be,” said Sarah. “Building that wraparound porch and making the house symmetrical, that was going to be the make or break for us.”
They extended the prairie porch so that it ran the length of the house, and they repainted the exterior, which was a muted gray, a crisp white to match their brighter aesthetic. They also worked with Brian Estes to landscape their yard and put in a white picket fence by Allied Fence. The overall effect is a charming Southern style home.
Their home, which will be on the East Lake Tour of Homes on Sept. 14 and 15, has traditional Southern charm inside too, that they’ve tempered and blended with their own bright and airy contemporary style to create a lovely vibe throughout.
