When Sherry Habif decided to redecorate her Brookhaven home in 2017 she knew she wanted to work with Julia Larrabee Designs. She’d seen Larrabee’s work in a close friend’s home, and she loved that the designer's own style didn’t overshadow the client’s look.

“You could walk into her house, but you didn’t know who decorated it. It had its own personal look based on what she really loved,” said Sherry, “and there’s nothing in here that’s like my girlfriend’s house.”

Sherry and her late husband, Ike Habif, built their home in 1991 and filled it with furniture and decor, much of which came from family and friends. In 2017, Sherry decided it was time for a different look.

“I just love color, and it was time to get a new fresh clean look,” said Sherry. “I like the fact that each room makes a statement.”

Now her foyer, living room, dining room and den represent fall, spring, winter and summer respectively, and her bedroom is swathed in black, giving her a stunning, chic space to retreat to at the end of the day. The new spaces are perfect for Sherry, who is an event planner and loves to host gatherings and parties.

“I wanted fresh, clean, contemporary, something to enjoy and to entertain,” said Sherry.
