PHOTOS: Roswell couple fills home with storied pieces

As an interior designer, homeowner Marcia Ledford’s motto has always been to buy quality things you truly love to fill your home. “Buy things that you’ve collected over the years whether it’s through travels or from family passing it down,” said Ledford. In her sitting room she has a green sofa from Kravet that she purchased 22 years ago, a floral chair from The Charles Stewart Company, and sheer linen drapes with a brown fringe that came through her own company, Ledford Interior Design. Marcia and Tom Ledford completely renovated their kitchen in 2017. “I wanted everything to feel like it was timeless,” said Marcia. “I knew that if I did marble it would absolutely be fabulous in another 50 years.” With Calacatta Gold marble counters and lighting from Arteriors, the kitchen is now bright and airy. A custom bed by Lee Industries and linens by Matouk and Bellino Fine Linens give the master bedroom of Tom and Marcia Ledford’s home an inviting atmosphere. Art that they’ve collected decorates the walls, like the Wassmer painting from France that hangs above the bed. “On our travels, anywhere we go, to any city, we always look for art and try to buy something we love,” said Marcia. In 2014 Marcia and Tom Ledford worked with Schuon Kitchens and Baths and Mark Galey of Master Home Remodelers to renovate their dated master bath into a spa-like space. The floor and shower are Carrara marble, and the cabinets are by Mouser Cabinetry. “It makes me happy because it’s clean and fresh feeling, and it’s got tons of natural daylight in it,” said Marcia. “I think it’s timeless.” Text by Shannon Dominy. Tom and Marcia Ledford have had their poolside furniture for about 40 years, and with so much of their family nearby it gets great use when they have family gatherings. “We entertain a lot,” said Marcia. “When you have three kids and five grandchildren there’s always somebody here.” Text by Shannon Dominy.
