The three Atlantans on “The Voice” this season all cruised through the Battle Rounds and are in solid positions to make the live shows.

Peedy Chavis, Gymani and Shadale hope to get past the knockout rounds starting Monday, Oct. 25, and enter the top 20, which will involve live voting for the first time.

Here is how each did during the battle rounds:

Peedy Chavis

Age: 19

Residence: Lawrenceville

Style: old-school rock

Battle round opponent: The Joy Reunion (a trio)

Battle round song: “Joy to the World” by Three Dog Night

Coach: Blake Shelton (with help from Dierks Bentley)

Response to Peedy from coaches:

Ariana Grande: “While your influences were clear and present, I heard more of you” compared to his initial Elvis Presley blind audition.

John Legend: “It was really fun.”

Kelly Clarkson “I was grinning ear to ear. That level of confidence is so cool.”

Blake: “That’s just a gift, man.” He gave the win to Peedy.

Blake’s post selection comment: “He has a chance to win this thing and a crazy career when this thing is over.”

Gymani (pronounced JIM-uh-nee)

Age: 23

Residence: East Point

Style: R&B

Coach: Team Kelly Clarkson (she had a four-chair turn during the blind auditions)

Battle opponent: fellow R&B singer Aaron Hines and fellow four-chair turn

Battle round song: “Working” by Tae McCrae and Khalid

Background: A single mom who performs at weddings and private events and helps with the Groove Lounge jam session

Response to Gymani from coaches:

Blake: “You’re so talented. Even though Aaron did everything he could, I’d go with Gymani here.”

Ariane: “I think you make it hard for anyone to sing with you. You are so gifted.”

John: “Gymani’s voice is so powerful, so electric, cuts through so powerfully, so soulfully. She can really sing!”

Kelly: “I paired you both because I thought it would sound incredible. Turns out I was right. I’d come to both of your concerts.” She chose Gymani.

Kelly’s post-selection comment: “I went with Gymani because there is something a little extra special about her tone. She’s kind of the chameleon vocalist so I’m pretty excited to see what she’s going to do in the knockouts.”

***

Shadale

Age: 29

Residence: Atlanta

Coach: Team John Legend

Style: R&B

Battle round opponent: Jadora Brown

Battle round song: “One Last Time” Ariana Grande

Her battle round was shortened on air to “montage” mode.

Feedback from John: “You have this approach to music, it just feels like love and connection and celebration.” He chose Shadale.

Post-selection thoughts: “I chose Shadale because of the star power, the beauty of her tone. She gives me a little Beyoncé Jr. vibe. She was the right person to go forward.”
