Mz Shyneka, a former popular host at Hot 107.9, has landed at rival Streetz 94.5 hosting afternoons.

She starts Monday, Oct. 12 and is on air from 2 -6 p.m.

“I am happy to be back on radio in my hometown!!” she said on Instagram today.

On-air Thursday, she said, “This is the perfect time to be back in the game.”

Mz Shyneka, whose real name is Shyneka Richardson, was able to join Streetz after a standard six-month, non-compete clause in her former contract with Hot.

After Hot let her go in April, she said on social media that she was a victim of pandemic-related cutbacks at Urban One Atlanta, which owns Hot.

“Every year, I always thought it would be last,” she added on Instagram Live. “I never took a vacation until this time because I was scared.”

Mz Shyneka started at Hot in 1999 as an intern. She then worked with Emperor Searcy for several years in the afternoons before he was let go in 2015. She was the solo afternoon host at the station for five years.
