Atlanta rap star Jeezy and his wife Jeannie Mai are expecting their first child.

Mae made the announcement as a host on the talk show “The Real,” seen in Atlanta weekdays on Fox 5 at 1 p.m.

“I can definitely say that our Real fam is growing,” Mai said. “It’s been really hard to keep all of these secrets for you guys because we’ve had so much to reveal here at the show, including the fact that I am pregnant!”

Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, met Mai in 2018. They were engaged last year and married earlier this year in Atlanta.

In a story in Women’s Health, she said she kept the news secret even from her “Real” cohosts until Monday. “Jeezy and I have been kind of saving this and hiding this for five months,” she said. “So, we’re relieved to finally share the news.”

Mai, 42, and Jeezy struggled to conceive and suffered a miscarriage after trying in-vitro fertilization before her current pregnancy. Prior to meeting Jeezy, she said she didn’t want children, describing it to the magazine as " hard-stop never.” But “falling in love with Jeezy made me see life differently for myself.”

Jeezy, who turns 44 on Sept. 28, has three children from previous relationships.
