Relax on your new front porch at these Atlanta homes under $400,000

Like other homes in Candler Park, the bungalow has a deep front porch, columns and a railing with modern lines.

The porch swing from Atlanta Bed Swings on Angel and Sarah Traverso's front porch is their favorite piece of furniture. They love to sit there with a cup of coffee or a cocktail before dinner. "My kids are very social, and they love to just be the welcoming committee whenever anyone pulls in or out of the neighborhood," said homeowner Paige Henkel. A pair of adirondack chairs and swing are set up with a whiskey barrel side table from Nadeau to create a lovely sitting space on the front porch of Henkel's Decatur home.

The front porch of the Craftsman-style home, built in 2013, has spaces for a bright seating niche with rustic flair because of a wooden spool-turned-table.

The front porch's rattan sofa is often a napping and reading spot. Colorful accents include the turquoise front door.

One seating area on the Kirkwood front porch has a pair of white rocking chairs around a table made by Andy McKeegan out of a pallet.

Kouters and Simpson often sit on the couches of their front porch.

Chris painted the ceiling of her front porch Sherwin-Williams Silver Strand, a more subdued nod to traditional sky blue porch ceilings. Fitzgerald consulted Stephanie Andrews of Balance Design for all her exterior paint colors.

Kate and Dave love to relax out on their front porch, reading the newspaper on the weekends or having a glass of wine in the evening. The vintage rocking chairs from her great grandmother are in one of three seating areas, next to the unexpected casino craps table on the porch.

From their wide front porch, Resler and Pippin often watch the hustle and bustle on the street and visit with Grant Park neighbors over cocktails. Pillows on the Sunday Porch Swing, from Ballard Designs, and chairs from TJ Maxx match the home's green exterior.

Fisher and architect Greg Mix of Southeast Studios worked to remove the old wraparound porch and add a larger front porch.

The front porch of Corey and Joy Jones' home features traditional Craftsman windows with orange trim and is bordered by white railings with unique arrow-shaped cutouts. The porch is decorated with furniture from secondhand stores and new pillows and seat cushions from Pier 1 Imports and HomeGoods.

What’s not to love about a front porch? It offers additional entertaining space and it allows you to enjoy the outdoors with some coverage from the elements.

According to Kipling, it’s one of the features home buyers desire most. “A front porch provides a place between curb and front door where homeowners can relax, watch the world go by, and interact with friends and neighbors, socially distanced if need be,” it said.

This 1920s bungalow is in the Capitol View neighborhood. The front porch is large and the house is by Perkerson Park.

373 Hopkins St SW, Atlanta - $274,900

This bungalow in historic West End offers a big front porch on the Beltline. There’s also a deck in the elevated backyard.

381 Lawton St SW - $399,000

The price has been cut on this West End bungalow. The large front porch overlooks the park. The home, which has been renovated, is a short walk to the Beltline.

592 Martin St SE - $399,900
