Star Ryan Reynolds took to Instagram to confirm that “Deadpool 3″ will be in theaters September 2024.

The first film, in 2016, was a box office hit, leading the creators to expand the Deadpool story into its own franchise. The second “Deadpool,” released in 2018, left fans desperate a third. Finally, after four years, they’re getting their wish.

Reynolds said he was “extremely sad” to have missed out on D23 — a three-day Marvel event — but insisted he had been working very hard on “Deadpool 3″ for a ”good long while now.”

After explaining — jokingly, we think — that that they’d run out of ideas for a third movie, actor Hugh Jackman can be seen walking in the background. “You wanna play Wolverine one more time?” Reynolds asked. Jackman respinded, “Yeah, sure, Ryan.”

The last time “X-Men” fans saw Jackman as Wolverine was in 2016 in “Logan,” where he died at the end.

The “Deadpool” franchise is the top-grossing “X-Men” series of all time, earning more than $780 million worldwide. And now, it seems, it even has the power to bring Wolverine back from the dead.
