Atlanta’s DC Young Fly, family speak out after death of Ms Jacky Oh

Comedian-musician DC Young Fly shared a statement with People after the sudden death of his longtime partner, Ms Jacky Oh.

“We thank everyone for their well wishes and ask for privacy during this difficult time,” the Atlanta native and his family said.

Former “Wild ‘N Out” star Ms Jacky Oh, whose real name was Jacklyn Smith, died May 31 at the age of 32.

Ms Jacky Oh had been in a relationship with DC Young Fly, whose real name is John Whitfield, since 2015, the same year he made his premiere on MTV’s hit show “Wild ‘N Out.” The couple shared three children, Nova, Nala and Prince, who was born just last year.

Still one of the show’s biggest stars, DC Young Fly was in Atlanta shooting new episodes “when he got the tragic news about Jacky’s death,” TMZ reported.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. shared a statement from Ms Jacky Oh’s family on his Instagram Story.

“It is with sadden hearts we share with you that Jacklyn aka MsJackyOh has passed away on Wednesday, May 31st 2023,” the statement read. “Our family is still processing this very tragic and unexpected loss; we ask that you please give us privacy during this time.”

Ms Jacky Oh was found unresponsive May 31 at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Miami Downtown/Brickell, according to a Miami Police Department incident report obtained by the Los Angeles Times.

She was taken to Mercy Hospital where doctors tried to resuscitate her. She was pronounced dead shortly before midnight.
