ALPHARETTA

Scarecrow Harvest and Brew Moon Fest

This is the ninth year that downtown Alpharetta will usher in the fall season by lining the streets with 100 scarecrows. Each entry will be constructed by local elementary school students, and at noon prizes will be given out for the best designs. Festivalgoers can play games, have their faces painted and take hay rides to the Future Farmers of America log cabin. The Alpharetta Farmers Market also will be in full swing, offering an array of specialty fall items. Older patrons can come back at 6:30 p.m. for the Brew Moon Fest, featuring live music, food from local eateries and an assortment of beers.

ROSWELL

An Evening With Chip Coffey and Britt Griffith

The Roswell Ghost Tour is offering appearances by Britt Griffith of the TV show “Ghost Hunters” and Chip Coffey, a psychic and medium, for an evening of paranormal exploration and discussion. It all begins with a Q&A, followed by a lecture in which Griffith will share some of his favorite (most credible?) evidence of paranormal activity. For an additional $60, would-be ghost hunters can join Griffith as he investigates some of the city’s reputedly haunted venues.
