2014 Atlanta Sportacular and Collectible Show
While Dad may be your hero, why not take him to meet a few of his? Some great names from the world of sports will be appearing in person at this sports memorabilia and trading show at the North Atlanta Trade Center in Norcross. Attendees can rub elbows with pro-sport superstars such as Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman, Braves pitcher Julio Teheran, NFL Hall of Famer Charley Trippi and NBA Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins, to name just a few. Check the website for a complete list of athletes making appearances, as well as a hint to some of the collectibles that will be on display.

Macy’s Great American County Fair
Throughout the summer, Macy’s is staging its “American Icons” celebrating “the heritage, landscape, time-honored traditions and people that make the country great.” On June 14, the tour will roll into the Macy’s parking lot at Town Center at Cobb in Kennesaw. The county-fair atmosphere will be filled with carnival games, family activities and a plethora of all-American food. The afternoon also will feature performances from the Rockwell Dance Academy, the Chip McGuire Band, the Kennesaw State Spirit Squad and Radio Disney’s Megan Nicole. The first 150 guests will be eligible to win a Macy’s gift card to use that day.

Fourth Annual Lavender Festival
Hard to believe, but it is the last weekend of spring. Yet there are a few days remaining to celebrate the season, and particularly, one of its most aromatic symbols: lavender. On June 14, the 7-acre historic Barrington Hall in Roswell will be awash in all things related to the fragrant purple flower, including lectures, crafts, demonstrations and exhibits. Visitors are invited to sample lavender-infused specialty foods and stroll the grounds while musicians play throughout the day.
