STONE MOUNTAIN

“Captain Phillips” at Stone Mountain-Sue Kellogg Library

Although cinematic swashbucklers such as Captain Jack Sparrow may pack charm, the pirates found in “Captain Phillips” sail an even more spine-tingling sea. Based on a true story, “Captain Phillips” scored several Oscar nods, and actors Tom Hanks and Barkhad Abdi lead the charge in the film. The plot centers on Captain Richard Phillips and the Somali pirate captain, Muse, who takes him hostage.

Proceeds from the event benefit STAR House Foundation.
