TUCKER

Symphony in Your Neighborhood at Tucker-Reid H. Cofer Library

Rarely does an audience get a chance to learn more about symphonic music from the actual musicians. Members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) will be offering just that at this intimate show. Guests experience a free chamber music performance by ASO musicians in a laid-back setting. Music lovers then have the chance to interact with the artists themselves.

1 p.m. Jan. 11. Free. Tucker-Reid H. Cofer Library, 5234 Lavista Road, Tucker. 770-270-8234, www.dekalblibrary.org/branches/tucker.html.

DULUTH

Back N Black at Wild Bill’s

Those hankering for a chance to see Aussie hard rock outfit AC/DC live in concert have to wait for the next tour. In the meantime, sound-alike surrogates Back N Black take the stage at this cavernous concert hall. This tribute band will likely serve up familiar strains from the group’s days with original vocalist Bon Scott. Take a cruise along the “Highway to Hell” for some “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.” Then they’ll segue into the Brian Johnson era for those about to rock. Hair metal purveyors Mad Margritt open the show with blazing fretwork, stratospheric vocals and power ballads.

9 p.m. Jan. 11. $10-$30 plus Ticketmaster fees. Wild Bill’s Atlanta, 2075 Market St., Duluth. 678-473-1000, 800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com.

COBB

Travis Tritt at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre

Tritt, a local country boy done good, returns home for a special performance. The Grammy-winning musician plans on taking the stage armed only with his guitar. The audience will hear stripped-down, acoustic versions of Tritt tracks, including chart makers “T-R-O-U-B-L-E,” “It’s a Great Day to be Alive” and “Best of Intentions.” Don’t be surprised if Tritt tells a few stories and shares some behind-the-scenes tales along the way. Country diva Lyndsey Highlander kicks off the evening.

8 p.m. Jan. 10. $35-$55 plus Ticketmaster fees. Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway, Atlanta. 800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com.
