El Super Pan at PCM
After a soft opening run, chef Hector Santiago's El Super Pan officially opened on Monday in the Food Hall at Ponce City Market. Look for Spanish-meets-Caribbean sandwiches, salads, snacks and sides all day, and a nightly selection of tapas and specials served after 6 p.m., once things settle into a regular routine. Eight Sushi Lounge open
Eight Sushi Lounge from the team behind Rice Restaurant in Cumming has opened in the Brady complex on Howell Mill Road. It's billed as "a place for all ages" and "all levels of sushi experience," and the menu features eight specialty rolls, makis, sashimi and specialties such as scallop seared with sesame oil and wasabi, miso-glazed steak and a take on eggs Benedict, with baked quail eggs, sticky rice and spicy tuna. Bhojanic Decatur closed
On Monday, Bhojanic closed its popular Decatur North Indian restaurant. The announcement came via Facebook: "After 12 years, it is both with a heavy heart but also with excitement that we are announcing the closing of our Decatur location. … Unfortunately, our lease at this location has come to an end and we could not come to terms on a lease extension." The Family Dog sold
A group that includes owners of the Ivy in Buckhead are taking over the Family Dog space in Morningside. Benjie Shirah of South Capital Partners confirmed that the asset management firm had closed on the property and would be reopening the Family Dog under the same name as early as the end of December, after some capital improvements. Ron Eyester, the chef/owner of Diner in Atlantic Station and founder of Grateful Tables restaurant group, closed his two original Morningside/North Highland Avenue restaurants, Rosebud and the Family Dog, in October. southcapitalpartners.com.
