Grain at MidCity Lofts

Grain, a new bar/restaurant from the owners of Cypress Street Pint and Plate and Seven Lamps, is open at MidCity Lofts in Midtown. Chef Drew Van Leuvan and barman Kevin Bragg are behind the food and drink at the cozy storefront space that features floor-to-ceiling windows and a bar with seating for small parties. Van Leuvan's small plates menu includes raw oysters, house-made charcuterie and the likes of lobster mac and cheese. Bantam + Biddy Lenox Square

Chefs Shaun Doty and Lance Gummere are set to open the newest location of their fast-casual restaurant, Bantam + Biddy, at Lenox Square mall in Buckhead. It's the fourth outpost of the pastured poultry and organic, seasonal vegetable concept, joining Ansley Mall, Crescent Avenue and Avalon. Brock and Wong at PCM

Ponce City Market previously announced several chef-driven restaurant additions to its Central Food Hall, slated to open in spring 2015, including Anne Quatrano's Dub's Fish Camp and Linton Hopkins' H&F Burger. Now chef Shaun Brock has joined the mix with the second outpost of Minero, his Charleston, S.C.-based casual Mexican and street taco concept. And chef Guy Wong of Atlanta's Miso Izakaya is set to open a Japanese ramen, yakitori and sushi restaurant. poncecitymarket.com.

Fire damages OK Cafe

During the early morning hours of Dec. 7, a fire damaged the OK Cafe, the iconic restaurant near I-75 and West Paces Ferry Road in Buckhead. The OK Cafe opened in July 1987, and soon became an Atlanta fixture, with crowds standing in line to sample its Southern-style blue plate specials and classic breakfast and brunch dishes. An Atlanta Fire Department spokeswoman told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that it looks like the restaurant "is going to be closed for a while." 1284 W. Paces Ferry Road. 404-233-2888, okcafe.com.
