Branch & Barrel at Avalon
From chef Todd Hogan of Branchwater Restaurant in Cumming, Branch & Barrel opened on Dec. 22 in the former Bantu space at Avalon, the mixed-use development in Alpharetta. Bone Lick now in O4W
Bone Lick BBQ from chef Mike LaSage has opened a second location, taking over the former Pizzeria Vesuvius and Edgewood Speakeasy space in Old Fourth Ward. The original Bone Lick opened in late 2012 in the Apex West Midtown apartment and retail building. Twisted Soul closing
Decatur's Twisted Soul restaurant is closing Dec. 30, with plans to reopen in another location in 2016. Deborah VanTrece, executive chef/owner of the Catering Company by VanTrece, took over the shuttered Marbar Beachside Cantina in December 2014, and the restaurant recently celebrated its one-year anniversary. TGM Bakery opening
TGM Bakery is opening on Jan. 4 next to the General Muir in Emory Point, taking over the former Sweet Monkey frozen yogurt space. The production facility will provide bread and baked goods for the General Muir, and sister restaurants, Fred's Meat & Bread and Yalla at Krog Street Market, and West Egg Cafe on the Westside, and offer limited retail sales.
